[media id=192 width=800 height=555] Brian Hansen and Brad Patton Interview
How long have you two been together? Time is flying when you are having fun. We have now been together for a year and a half. It has been a really fantastic time. How did you meet? We actually met during the shooting of Kristofer Weston’s Manly Heat: Quenched, a Buckshot production shoot in Lake Powell, Arizona. We met at the hotel the day before leaving out on the houseboat. We still have very vivid memories from the time out there. It really was the perfect place for romance. If you have never been to Lake Powell we strongly recommend you to go. It is magical. Was it love at first sight? Yes in a way. We met at the hotel the night we arrived at Page. We ended up sitting on the bed talking for a long time about our background and our lives. We had both traveled extensively and lived in many different countries, therefore we very quickly gained a great understanding of each other. When it was time to go to sleep, we gave each other a small kiss goodnight and parted. It was actually fantastic, it felt like something special, something that we didn’t want to destroy with ”fucking on the first date”. What was the first thing that you noticed about each other? We connected on many levels. There was obviously a physical and sexual attraction, but also an attraction that included the heart and soul. It is really hard to pick one thing… It must have been a combination of everything… and Lake Powell! What is a typical day like for you two as a couple? Well, things have changed a lot in the last year. After retiring from pro figure skating a few years ago Brad is now back in the skating ‘’scene” as a choreographer, coach and co-organizer of international skating shows. Most of Brad’s days are spent at the ice rink, in the dance studio, or in meetings. It is rewarding for me to see that Brad is working with his biggest passion. I am sure many would be jealous for that. I have started utilizing my “collection” of university degrees. I have been given a great start to my professional career, now working for a multinational firm. My days consist of early starts (which I am not very good at), suits and ties (I think that can be sexy), and long hours at the office or traveling. When we are reunited at night, we tend to be lazy and watch TV and eat lots of ice cream and candy… Many things have changed the last year, but I still think I can eat anyone under the table when it comes to ice cream. Are the two of you in an open or closed relationship? We are in a closed relationship. We have nothing against people wanting to be in an open relationship, but it is not a thing that would work for us. What is the most romantic time that the two of you have ever had? Hmmm. That is a hard one, I think I am the most romantic out of us. I always try to come up with romantic things to do, but sometimes feel I am not taken seriously (laughs). Saying that does not mean we never do romantic things. Brad is very good at giving me flowers, and cooking me dinner etc…. The most romantic thing we have done? I think we have to leave that as a secret between us. What is the one thing about each other that can sometimes be annoying? Relationships are hard in the way that there are two people from different backgrounds suddenly supposed to be ”ONE”. I think that regardless of how good a relationship is, there will always be small things that annoy you. I speak much more than Brad. I think he sometimes thinks I talk too much. I on the other hand think he is too quiet…I feel sorry for Brad sometimes, when he thinks I talk too much, he normally goes into a different room. It does not really help as I always follow him wanting to finish my story. What is your favorite thing about one another? Ha! Where to start? … I think we will run out of paper on this one. To make it short, EVERYTHING! What do you feel is the key to a successful relationship? Several factors come into play in building a successful relationship. A few things that are important for us are: honesty, respect, space, and maybe most of all communication. We believe that everything can be solved if we are open and communicate about what we feel and what is on hand. Being such popular adult stars, do you feel like that added attention helped or hurt the relationship at all, or had no effect? I think it is a big challenge to build a strong relationship being in the adult industry. There are so many external factors that very easily can create problems. For us, we met on the set, and obviously understood the situation of being involved in the adult industry, but we still faced challenges. I think communication and honesty are even more important in a “porn star relationship”, in fact I think it is essential for survival. Now that you two have retired, are you enjoying any semblance of anonymity? I would not use the word “retired.” It makes us feel so old. (laughing). Let’s put it this way, we are currently not doing any movie work since we are both busy with other things. What the future will bring, no one knows! We are living in Amsterdam and people here are very easy going, anonymity here has always been easy. Internationally speaking, I think we still will live on a little longer… movies do not die that quick. At least I hope people will enjoy watching our work more than once! GIO Brian, thank you for taking the time to do this interview for the readers of my column and your fans! Brian It’s always a pleasure Gio, I enjoy interacting with my fans and see it as a big part of my job. GIO Congratulations on being named Buckshot’s first exclusive! What made you decide to become an exclusive with Buckshot? BrianTo be honest, I didn’t think I would ever sign an exclusive contract at all. Being locked down under a contract, was a thought I felt uncomfortable with. Those who are into star signs say it comes with being an Aquarian. However when meeting John Rutherford and the other “family members” at COLT Studio Group my mind slowly changed. We got along so well, we had equal respect for each other, both on a working level as well as a personal level. When John came to me with the question about being Buckshot’s first exclusive I felt very comfortable saying yes, I felt we had the same goal in mind and that we both cared about the others interest. I am very exited about being the first Buckshot exclusive, and being part of the most exciting and professional team in the industry. GIO That is awesome! What made you decide to pursue porn as a performer? Brian I don’t think anyone ever has a plan to become a porn star. It is more something that you fall into. In my case I was “spotted” when I did commercial modeling. I was initially very negative to it all, but my curiosity became to strong, hence here I am. I think there are several reasons as to why people end up doing porn, some do it for the money, some for the fame, others just because they get off by being watched. I think for me it is a mix of many elements, I guess I’m just curious and want to try everything in life. I believe everything in life is character building. GIO Well you are off to a great start with you character building. Tell me about filming BIG RIG and HARD Studies for Buckshot. Is there a highlight that stands out for you on each of these films? Brian BIG RIG was the first production I did with Buckshot. It was done out in the California desert and it was a fun experience. I play a kitchen hand in this movie and end up having a hot three way “out back”. The scene was a very challenging one, due to factors we had no control over. The scene was done outside, the sun was so hot (I can still feel the sun burns) then the wind started, and then the sand….Lets just say that my cock has never been given an exfoliation treatment like that. We finally got there at the end, it was a really hard one to do, but I think it came out great. HARD Studies is my movie. I play an Australian exchange student in America, totally obsessed with COLT Man Adam Dexter, frustrated over my flat mates casual sex rendezvous, and desperate for my own. I finally at the end get it my way; I get to meet my obsession COLT Man Adam Dexter. Our scene has received much attention the last few weeks, with a highly regarded reviewer saying it was one of the best duo scenes he had ever witnessed. It comes with the story that we had a lot of fun doing this scene, COLT Man Adam Dexter is such a great guy. GIO Well I agree that the two of you sure heat up the screen during that scene and it is apparent there was some mutual attraction! What is the next project you are working on for Buckshot? Brian We have lots going on I can tell you. I just finished doing a production on Lake Powell in Arizona. This was truly an amazing shoot; both the location and the sex will totally blow you away when this two part DVD called Manley Heat: Quenched and Scorched (due out this autumn) hits the shelves. I did two scenes one with Matt Cole, the second with Brad Patton. Both scenes are spectacular in their own way, particularly the scene with Brad Patton which was filmed in a speed boat while driving. It was a hard scene because of the small boat but you forget all that when you have chemistry with your partner and when you work with a pro like Patton. Besides the movies, I’m just about getting ready to get on a plane to the US to participate in the gay pride in San Francisco as well as other appearances interstate. In addition to that I’m getting things together for my web site www.BrianHansenXXX.com GIO I understand you grew up all over the world, but officially you are an Aussie. Of all the places you have lived, do you have a favorite? Brian The world is getting smaller and smaller, which passport you hold does not really matter anymore, at least from the point of view of identity. Having lived in several countries I feel I am a bit of everything, My passport is just a small “book” I carry when I fly. There are many amazing places in the world, it all depends what you are after really. I really enjoy Crane beach on Barbados, I agree with lonely planet when they say it one of the most beautiful spots in the world. When it comes to city life, I really enjoy Barcelona; it is a city that has it all. When it comes to lifestyle I have a weak spot for Australia, they really know how to enjoy life. GIO What were you like as a child growing up? Were you outgoing and athletic or reserved and shy? Brian I think I was in the sweet middle. I was not as outgoing as some of the other kids, but I was very active in sports. Growing up in a family where my mum had always competed in sports, it was in the cards that I had to as well. GIO At what age did you realize you were gay? Brian For me personally, I actually don’t believe in labeling sexuality. It has never fitted with who I am I also think this plays a part in creating a gap between gay, straight and bisexual people. I see myself simply as sexual, for me it is important to connect with people. When that is done, we can figure out “that down below” later. I get along with girls and with guys, for me it comes down to the individual. GIO Having experienced “gay” life in the U.S.A, Australia and throughout Europe, is there one particular place that stands out as more liberated when it comes to acceptance of gay people in general? Brian Funny that you ask that question, it is a question I get a lot when I’m out and about. Actually there are marginal differences between countries when it comes to the gay scene. You find the same groupings wherever you go, you tend to have the same selection of bars and club’s which again cater in their different ways for these groupings. When it comes to acceptance there is a difference, I think this to a large degree comes down to religion and local traditions. In most of the western world I think the overall situation is getting better, however it does scare me that George Bush is trying to change the laws so that gay marriage becomes a distant dream. This is not an attitude a leader and a “role model” should have. In order for acceptance to develop, I also think it is important to focus on bars and clubs that are mixed. Keeping different sexualities separated plays a part in maintaining the gap between straight and gay. Straight people need to get more accepting towards gay people, but gay people also need to become more open to a mixed society. We need to stop living our gay life only around gay friends and gay venues, we need to open up and invite everyone in. That is how the general public will gain acceptance and see that gay people are just as “normal” as anyone else. GIO Very well said and in many ways I totally agree with you! I understand you are well studied holding a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business and you are pursuing another Masters degree. Why is education so important to you? Brian That is true Gio, studying becomes a life style; I now understand why some academics never get out of it. The society is changing and I think education is becoming the key to the future in many ways. “Back in the days” you could start on the floor and work your way up to the top, but today that is hard if you don’t have any sort of paper or degree. I also like education in the way that no one can ever take it away from you. People can steal everything from you, but your education is an investment no one can take away from you. I also believe using education as power is a better way to go then only seeing money and fame as power. GIO One of my favorite things to watch in porn is the bloopers that happen while filming. What is the funniest or most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you while shooting a scene? Brian That is actually one of my favorite parts of the DVD as well Gio; it really gives a sense of the actors personality. When shooting BIG RIG I had to stand outside this restaurant smoking cigarettes as part of a scene. It ended up being many takes, and I have no idea how many cigarettes I went trough, but for a non smoker it ended up being too many and I got sick. I stormed around the corner vomited, then fainted on the ground. For some reason I don’t think that would have looked very good on the bloopers, but you asked about an embarrassing moment and you got it. J GIO You are getting ready to launch your own website, what can the fans expect when they visit www.BrianHansenXXX.com Brian Yes I am slowly but surly working on that. It is a project I think will be very exiting. Besides the normal members’ area with image galleries video clips and life web shows and journals, I also want to incorporate something that has some more substance to it. I want to talk to people about relevant issues,- about being gay, about life and about everything. I also have some other ideas going but I will keep them to myself a little longer. GIO Complete this sentence…The best part about being a porn star is…? Brian The best part of being a porn star is getting to know some really amazing, fun, and crazy people. In the industry you find people from all walks of life. GIO And, the worst? Brian When the headache from the hot lights sneaks up on you in the afternoon…I get them really bad. GIO Do you get recognized a lot in public? If so, how is that experience for you? Brian Since I try to stay away from the “gay central” I also stay away from most of the limelight in that regards. I have been recognized in Australia, and around different states in the US. On my flight from Los Angeles to Sydney 3 weeks ago the one of the flight attendants came up and asked for my autograph on a napkin. GIO What was the most positive thing that happened to you as a result of your porn career? Brian Meeting some truly amazing people, both among the models, the crew behind the scene, and characters involved in the industry in different ways. I have established some really good friendships what I hope and know will last a lifetime. GIO What advice do you have for anyone wanting to become a porn performer? Brian In general…be very careful. The industry is huge and there are some sleazy bad people around. Only contact and work with the big recognized studios. If you can, try and talk to someone with experience in the industry. Always think twice before signing anything and read everything carefully. Last but not least, always play safe; never ever get involved in companies producing BB movies. GIO Very good advice! Who was the best director that you ever worked for? Brian John Rutherford and Kristofer Weston are truly professionals. They know what they want, know how to get it, and they know the meaning of team work. It is always a pleasure working with them. I’m also really looking forward to working with the legendary Jerry Douglas in upcoming projects. I have a lot of respect for his work. GIO Do you watch your own scenes when they are completed and if so, how is that for you? Brian I am too curious not too. It does feel a bit strange to see yourself on film like that. However I do separate very clearly between my role as a porn star and my role as being me. Therefore I see the actor and model at work when I see a video, I don’t see me. The same way Anthony Hopkins probably looks at himself acting when he sees Hannibal Lector J GIO How old were you when you saw your first porn movie and what was that experience like for you? Brian I don’t know how old I was, but I remember getting it from a friend. It was a straight movie but at that time seeing anything nude got me off. I remember I waited until Mum had gone to sleep before I hit the play button. I didn’t last long, but it is to this date, one of the most intense longest orgasms I have ever had. I was in cramps on the living room floor … it was HOT. GIO At what age did you loose your virginity? Was it a good or bad experience? Brian I lost virginity to my first long term girl friend when I was 16. It was a really good experience actually. We had spoken about it for a while and decided to try. We had music candles and everything to make it special and it was….not the best sex I have had though but definitely something I will remember… The first time I had sex with a guy was not that special. I had wanted to try it for a while and one day I just decided to do it. ….again not the best experience. GIO What is your favorite sexual position and why? BrianDepends on my mood and the guy really; I believe there is a time for everything. There is a time for a quick hard FUCK. Then there is a time for making love, connecting and sharing a beautiful moment. I don’t really have any particular favorite position, I like being dominated but also like to dominate, as I said it all comes down to the mood and the person. I do find it a turn on to see what’s going on though J. GIO What would you consider is your most attractive feature? And your least attractive? Brian Hard to say, I think those things are best judged by other people. Things that for some can be attractive might not be as attractive to others. I am blessed with good teeth something that I think makes my smile stand out. If I could fix anything I probably would fix my nose, I want a bigger nose, the one I have looks like a button. GIO Do you have anyone special in your life right now? Brian I have a lot of special people in my life, since I have traveled so much, I don’t get to see all of them every day, but they are all in my heart. But I guess you’re not thinking about friends when you ask me about “someone special” do you? My aim is not to actively look for love, I don’t think that is very healthy or will last very long. I want love to find me. There is a sparkle in my life at the moment and I am enjoying that feeling, and looking forward to exploring it further….. GIO Aside from porn, what are you passionate about in life these days? Brian I am passionate about too much. I am a very opinionated person and like to know what’s going on around the world. This morning I am quite upset reading about the gay bashing in New York, I find it appalling and believe George Bush should take some of the blame. The most powerful leader in the world is basically saying that being gay is a crime. It makes me very angry that influential people like him can be so judgmental, and say things that can lead to serious matters for gay people around the world. GIO If I were to ask your two closest friends what your best qualities are, what would they tell me? Brian For me, honesty and respect are two words I try to live by. I hope I am able to do so, and it comes trough in my friend’s comments on me. I also hope they recognize that I’m loyal and a “man of my words”. GIO What would they tell me is your greatest opportunity for improvement? Brian They would tell you that I don’t have patience at all. And that I analyze and think too much about everything. GIO What’s the most romantic thing you have ever done for someone else and the most romantic thing someone has done for you? Brian I love romance, I think it might be the Latin in me. Once on Valentines Day when my partner was at work, I drew up an old fashion pirate map of the area we lived in. The aim with the map was to find the “treasure” being me. I left it on the table in the living room for him to find when he got home from work. I left the house and walked into the woods and to the spot I had market on the map. It was winter and snow everywhere so I put down a blanket and waited for the “pirate” to come get his “treasure”. My partner finally found me after a long struggle in the woods. We sat on the blanket, drank hot chocolate watched the stars, and then made love (it was cold but it had to be done) GIO I just got all warm and fuzzy inside, that is VERY romantic. Is there one particular fantasy that you have yet to fulfill in life? If so, what is it? Brian God yes, I am 26 and have just started living, it would be sad to have fulfilled everything I wanted to do…then I would have had nothing to look forward to. I still have lots to fulfill in the adult industry. I also have not started on my professional career which means that that page is still open and full of opportunities. Since I have traveled around and lived in so many places I also have a dream of one day wanting to settle down in one place and develop a really good group of friends that I can see daily. GIO How has life changed for you since doing porn? Brian Not really, I guess I have channeled my focus a bit towards the adult industry lately, in order to understand how it all works and in order to get to know the “key” people. I’m doing many interviews and getting attention in different ways, but I am a person who believes it is important to be myself, therefore I think that few external forces will dramatically change my life. GIO I understand you are planning on making live appearances throughout the world and FabScout Entertainment will be representing you for some of these gigs, what made you decide to reach out to FabScout for representation? Brian As mentioned earlier there are many sleazy people with bad interest in the adult industry. For me it has been important to find “quality” people to work with. As a result of this I am now with Buckshot. Quality, trust and respect were also key words when it came to choosing someone to help me in regards to the world wide appearances. FabScout Entertainment has a very good reputation in the industry and is managed by people that seem to work on the same terms as I in regards to honesty, respect and reliability. I’m exited about what we can do for each other. GIO Well you made a good choice! If you could pick any place to go on your next vacation, where would it be and why? Brian There are not many places I want to go that I have not been. However I have not been in Tibet yet, and would love to go hiking in the mountains and explore their interesting way of life. GIO If there was one famous person (either living or dead) that you could meet with for an hour, who would that be and why? Brian Ahh …. There are so many, it is very hard to pick one. I’m fascinated by the bad guys, interested in how they work and how they think. Adolf Hitler and Bin Laden, would be interesting to listen to, would love to hear their rationale. Would also like some time with the former CEO of Enron, in regards to the temptations of breaching rules and regulations in the strive to make money. In addition to that I am a sucker for strong ladies, would like to have dinner with Margaret Thatcher and talk to her about how she experienced being a female leader in the male dominated political world. Among the main stream celeb’s, I would love to meet Oprah. GIO Dogs or cats? Brian Dogs without question, cats have too much attitude that would be too much competition for me. GIO Boxers or briefs? BrianBoth, depends on what I wear. I like trunks (short boxers), sometimes I don’t wear underwear. GIO Lights on or off during sex? BrianThere is a time for everything but I like lights on, you gotta see what’s going on. GIO I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share with me and all your fans out there! I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors. BrianThank you very much it’s been a pleasure, its always nice talking to people like you with good questions. |
